As avid DIYers and homeowners, we're always looking for new ways to upgrade our outdoor space. When we came across the Sundance louvered pergola, we knew we had to give it a try. Read on to learn all about our experience installing this innovative pergola system.

An Easy Yet Robust Installation Process

One thing we love is that Sundance makes their pergolas very installer friendly. All of the pieces were precut and labeled, so putting it together was essentially like assembling a large puzzle. We had the main structure erected in just a few hours with basic power tools. The louvers were a bit more time consuming to attach but still very straightforward. Overall the build quality feels extremely sturdy and we have no doubts it will stand up to our climate for many years.

Remote Controlled Louvers Are a Game Changer

Of course, the real showstopper feature is the automated louvers. With the included remote, you can open and close the louvers at the push of a button from anywhere in your yard. It's amazing how much natural light and ambiance is altered just by adjusting the louvers. No more climbing ladders to manually open and close - what a luxury! We love being able to control the amount of sun and shade from our deck chairs.

FAQs

Based on our experience, here are some answers to common questions people may have:

How long does the battery last on the remote?

The remote uses standard AAA batteries that typically last 6-12 months with normal use.

Can the louvers be positioned partially open?

Yes, the remote allows you to stop the louvers at any point during opening or closing for customized shading.

How well does it stand up to wind and rain?

The all-weather steel and aluminum construction makes the pergola extremely durable. We've had it through many storms with no issues at all.

Is assembly relatively simple for DIYers?

Absolutely! Sundance provides very clear instructions. As long as you have basic tools, anyone can install it themselves with just a few hours of work.

Would you recommend the Sundance pergola system?

Without hesitation, yes! It has completely transformed our outdoor space and the automated louvers add a level of convenience that other pergolas simply can't match. Highly recommended if you're looking to upgrade your patio or deck area.
