If you're looking for unique yet affordable decoration ideas for your wedding reception tables, diamond shaped candle centerpieces are a gorgeous option. Candlelight sets a romantic ambiance and these DIY designs incorporating basic materials like glass votives will illuminate your event in style.

Inspiration from Décor Maniacs

I came across the Instagram account of Décor Maniacs, run by a creative wedding stylist. They had posted a short video on TikTok showing off dazzling diamond wedding candle holders available in their shop. The intricate cut glass designs caught my eye, and inspired me to create my own version using inexpensive supplies.

Materials Needed

  • Clear or colored glass votive candle cups
  • Mirror tile or glass
  • Construction adhesive
  • Scissors

You can find glass votives and mirror tiles at most craft stores. Make sure to use a strong adhesive that can bond glass and withstand heat from the flickering candles.

Step 1: Cut the Mirror Tile

Using scissors, carefully cut the mirror into diamond shapes following basic diamond templates online. You can make them all the same size or vary the scale for visual interest. Save the leftover scraps for another project.

Step 2: Assemble the Centerpieces

Apply a dot of adhesive to the bottom center of each glass votive. Press a cut mirror diamond firmly onto the adhesive. Allow to fully dry as directed before use. Repeat until you have enough centerpieces for all of your reception tables.

FAQs

How long will the centerpieces last?

If made with quality materials and construction, these candle centerpieces should hold up well throughout your wedding reception. Just be sure to transport and store them carefully.

Can I customize the designs?

Absolutely! Get creative by cutting the mirror into other shapes like hearts, squares or your monogram. You could also embellish with gems, ribbon or fresh flowers.

How do I safely transport them?

Place completed centerpieces in boxes or bags with padding to prevent breakage when transporting to your venue. Remove candles before transport for safety.

I hope these ideas for beautiful DIY diamond wedding candle centerpieces help to illuminate and decorate your special day. Let me know if you have any other questions!
