The 75 Hard challenge is a demanding mental and physical test where participants must follow a strict regime for 75 consecutive days. On day 7 of my journey, I'm sharing an update on my progress so far as well as lessons learned.

What is the 75 Hard Challenge?

For those unfamiliar, the 75 Hard challenge involves completing two 45-minute cardio sessions per day, following a strict diet with no cheat meals, drinking a gallon of water daily, and reading 10 pages of a self-help or educational book. You also have to accomplish a daily progress photo documenting your efforts. It's an extreme test of willpower and discipline that is certainly not for the faint of heart.

My First Week Experience

The first few days were tough as I adjusted to the new routine and strict diet. Finding time for two long cardio sessions per day while juggling a full work schedule was challenging. I had to get very organized with my schedule. The water intake goal was also difficult to meet at first. However, I'm starting to feel more energized now that my body has adjusted. Meal prepping on Sundays has also helped make this challenge more sustainable.

While tiring, I'm feeling motivated by the small improvements I'm seeing in my body already. Seeing my progress photos side by side is keeping me determined to push through the difficult days. The support from family and friends following my journey on social media with the #75hardchallenge hashtag has also been very encouraging.

What I've Learned So Far

This first week has taught me that I'm stronger than I realized. Pushing through fatigue and discomfort has helped build my mental toughness. I've also learned the importance of being very organized and sticking to a schedule. While it's a big time commitment, committing to just one day at a time has made it feel more manageable.

I highly recommend giving the 75 Hard challenge a try if you want to test your limits and gain self-discipline. Following others' journeys with #75hard on social media can also serve as motivation. While strenuous, the self-improvement from completing this challenge will stay with you long after the 75 days are over.
