A Powerhouse Program

The SLCC volleyball program is one of the best in the nation at the junior college level. The Bruins compete in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) and consistently field championship-caliber teams. In recent years, SLCC volleyball has won multiple SWAC titles and advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament.

Under the direction of head coach Sue Dulaney, the Bruins volleyball program has become a force to be reckoned with. Coach Dulaney has been at the helm since 1998 and has led the team to over 600 wins during her illustrious career. She has a knack for recruiting talented players and getting the best out of them.

Talented Roster

The SLCC volleyball roster is comprised of standout players from across the region. The coaching staff does an excellent job of identifying prospects and bringing them into the program. The result is a cohesive team loaded with athleticism, skill, and depth.

State-of-the-Art Facility

The SLCC Bruins volleyball team plays their home games in the spacious and modern Lifetime Activities Center-Bruin Arena. The gymnasium seats approximately 2,000 fans, providing an outstanding home court advantage.

The arena has top-notch locker rooms, training facilities, and equipment to help our athletes succeed. On game days, families and students pack "The Bruin" to cheer on our team. The energetic crowds provide a major boost to our volleyball team during home matches.

Competitive Conference

SLCC volleyball competes in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC). The SWAC features several other strong volleyball programs, making for competitive matches every time out. Key conference rivals include Snow College, Colorado Northwestern, USU Eastern, and College of Southern Idaho.

Each match in the SWAC is a battle. Our volleyballers must bring their best effort each and every night to succeed in this conference. The competition within the league prepares our team for the rigors of the regional and national tournaments.

Postseason Success

SLCC volleyball has achieved sustained success in postseason play. The Bruins have reached the NJCAA Tournament numerous times in recent seasons. Once at nationals, our teams have recorded several top 15 finishes.

In 2017, SLCC volleyball had its best NJCAA Tournament showing by advancing all the way to the national semifinals. The experienced, resilient squad won five consecutive matches before finally being eliminated. It was an inspirational performance that demonstrated the Bruins' capabilities on the biggest stage.

Community Support

Volleyball has a passionate fan base in the Salt Lake City community. Families, friends, alumni and students turn out in droves to fill "The Bruin" for home games. The team has tremendous support from athletics boosters as well.

It is rewarding for our athletes to play in front of such large, energetic crowds. The fans get into the matches, often rattling the opposing team. We are grateful to have a community that loves volleyball and actively supports the SLCC program.

With its legacy of success, wealth of talent, top-tier coaching, outstanding facility and community support, the future looks awfully bright for SLCC volleyball. The program seems poised to continue competing for conference titles and making noise on the national stage.

Coach Dulaney and the Bruins are hungry for more success. The team sets lofty goals each season and works tirelessly in pursuit of them. There are more conference championships to be won and national tournaments to play in. The journey continues for the powerhouse SLCC volleyball program.
